This month marks 55 years since the first Dartford tunnel opened for business.

Since that day in November 1963, a second tunnel and bridge were built to transport the growing number of cars crossing the Thames.

Plans for a footbridge at Stone Crossing Station

GARETH Johnson MP has welcomed plans to build a £2m footbridge at Stone Crossing Station.

Network Rail is to consult on plans to install a bridge next year. Feasibility plans are due to be completed by May and these results will go out to consultation next summer.
