I have vigorously campaigned on the issue of Property Management Companies in Parliament on behalf of people in Dartford who have contacted me about inflated fees and poor services. I am therefore delighted with the progress of The Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill which has now cleared the House of Commons.
This Bill will tackle 'the exploitation of millions of homeowners through punitive service charges'. For the first time, it will allow communities to switch management companies.
This news will be welcomed by thousands of people in Dartford who are paying huge sums of money to Management Companies, with little or no say on how these companies are run or what their money is spent on.
