Gareth Johnson MP submits letter signed by eleven local MPs in response to the Dartford Crossing Consultation

Gareth Johnson MP for Dartford has submitted a letter to the Department for Transport signed by eleven MPs outlining their opposition to the proposed increase in toll charges on the Dartford crossing.

Gareth said “All the local MP’s that signed this letter had similar concerns regarding the current proposals for the Dartford Crossing.  We all realise the impact the charges have on our constituents, local businesses and the surrounding area”.

Gareth added “I would like to see the tolls scrapped completely - the Crossing could be a positive thing for Dartford, instead it is Dartford’s nemesis. I welcome the fact that the Department for Transport is tackling the congestion at the Crossing but I still feel that the tolls need to be completely removed”
