Gareth Johnson MP welcomes Government’s announcement that could allow grammar schools to expand
Following the announcement of the Government’s plans to revise the long-awaited and out-dated schools’ admissions process, Gareth Johnson welcomed the news that at last the good schools in Dartford could be able to expand.
Gareth said:
“This is extremely good news for the children and parents of Dartford as they will have more genuine choice. At the moment the good schools in Dartford are over-subscribed. For too long our Grammar Schools have been prevented from expanding and I hope that this announcement signals an end to this restriction. I want to see all children in Dartford, who pass the 11+ having the choice of attending one of our Grammar Schools. We have found that many children who have passed the 11+ are unable to gain entry because of previous admission codes.”
