Gareth Johnson is delighted that the work to replace the two expansion joints on the A2/A282 Dartford Littledale Viaduct is due to start on the 26 February 2011 and will last for approximately 14 days.
Gareth said: “I am very pleased that, due to the successful campaign run by the local councillors, residents and myself that this work was agreed and is now commencing. The residentshave had to endure severe noise pollution since the viaduct was built. I very much hope that this programme of works will at last tackle the problems.”
The new joints will be similar to the expansion joint on the existing (middle) Littledale Viaduct, without the two metal rails. This type of joint has not been used in the UK before but is used in a number of other European countries. ENDS
