 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 Dartford MP’s Diamond Jubilee Competition

To commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Gareth Johnson MP recently organised a competition for all Primary Schools in Dartford to enter.

He invited Primary School children to either draw a picture of the Queen or to write a poem about her and the Jubilee celebrations. Each school then selected two winners and these received an invitation to visit the Palace of Westminster and meet Gareth where he congratulated them on their achievement and presented each of them with a commemorative Diamond Jubilee mug.

In addition, all the winning entries are currently on display in the Reception area of the Civic Offices from 28th May 2012 until 18th June 2012.

Gareth said:

“I am delighted that so many schools took part in the competition as part of their Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The standard of the winning entries is very high and provides a fantastic, colourful display of patriotism at the Civic Offices to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. I would like to thank all the children who took part and offer my congratulations to all the winners.”
