Bluewater holds topping out celebration

Date: Mon 23rd May 2011

The Events centre at Bluewater Shopping Centre held its topping out celebration this week with the final part of the structure of the venue being put in place. The Events Centre itself will open later in the year and host a whole range of different shows and exhibitions.

The Centre is just another example of in the innovative approach shown by Bluewater and its chief executive Andrew Parkinson.  There will be two main halls with a gallery and five new restaurants and already the Events Centre has secured an exciting programme of events. The sheer size of the Centre is difficult to convey but it is an imposing building that will be capable of laying on almost any kind of event.

Since its opening  twelve years ago, Bluewater has been a tremendous asset for the local area. It employs over 7000 people and has become an integral part of the local community. Some sixty three different locally based companies have worked on the £60 Million project. The Event Centre will increase the number of people it employs and offer a different attraction to Bluewater that has in many ways become a huge leisure centre. I host many of my surgeries at Bluewater and I find that people are very happy to make an appointment when they are told of the venue.

If innovation is the key to success for industry then it is hardly surprising that Bluewater goes from strength to strength.
