Arrow Riding Centre
Date: Mon 12th December 2011
On Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the carol concert at the Arrow Riding Centre for the disabled in Darenth for their annual Christmas concert. The carol concert was very well attended and raised much needed funds for the centre. It was fantastic to see so many of those who use the centre involved with the production and it provided a welcome addition to the festive season in Dartford. Tim Crome from Dartford Methodist Church and Jeremy Kite from Dartford Council expertly led the concert but I suspect that the attendance of Father Christmas, with a present for every child, created the most excitement.
The Arrow Riding Centre is a fantastic asset to our community, providing riding lessons to the disabled from Dartford and much further afield. The facilities on offer at the centre are excellent and allow those with disabilities to experience horse riding and the physical and social benefits of the sport. The Centre has been chosen as a training location for next year’s Paralympic Games and therefore will provide facilities for those attending the equestrian events.
The centre relies heavily on its dedicated staff and volunteers who help it to run smoothly. I cannot congratulate them enough on the hard work and time they give to the centre. I hope that Arrow Riding Centre continues to go from strength to strength and I wish all those involved with this excellent charity a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
