I was pleased to visit Europa Road, the European road freight division of Europa Worldwide Group based in Dartford.
Nine years ago I visited the site for ground-breaking, before the building had even begun and I visited again with Boris Johnson as part of the launch of the Vote Leave campaign. It was good to go back and see how the company has boomed in Dartford.
During the visit, I heard about the company's proactive work for British businesses that trade with the EU and met staff involved in its day-to-day running. Europa has more than 1400 staff worldwide, with 100 people in its IT division, 55 drivers and 100 staff at its warehouse in Dartford.
Located near the Dartford Crossing, the hub has seen a 15% increase year-on-year in the volume of European road freight and a record 40,000 consignments pass through the terminal each month.
This 24/7 service is very efficiently and professionally run and it was interesting to talk to the staff and see the pride they have in the company and how they enjoy sharing in the achievements of this organisation.
This really is another Dartford success story.
