I was pleased to attend the Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase recently which took place during National Apprenticeship Week.
Around 200 apprentices from employers across the country showcased their skills, along with representatives from education, training providers, the media, and trade associations. Since the launch of the Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase some eight years ago, the industry has connected MPs with apprentices working within hospitality in their constituencies.
As the country’s third biggest employer, employing over 3.5 Million people, it is now more important than ever that hospitality is supported and promoted as a rewarding, stable career prospect for people of all ages and those within all social groups. Hospitality helps the economy prosper with first-class learning and development programmes, investing in lasting careers and communities.
The photo above is of me meeting apprentice Lewis Weygang, who works for Shepherd Neame in Dartford and presenting him with a Certificate of Recognition.
