It was a pleasure to attend the Kent Multicultural Festival event yesterday in Central Park. This fantastic, inaugural event, was organised by Bangladeshis in Kent and was all about bringing communities together. It consisted of vibrant performances with music, dance and a DJ and a wide array of delicious cuisines from around the World.
I am proud of the diversity in Dartford and in my time as the MP, I have been fortunate enough to visit many of Dartford’s varied places of worship and see the amazing work they do for the local community. I have also experienced some of the wonderful array of cuisines, hospitality and tradition that makes our community special. This festival was an extraordinary way of bringing this all together in one place to celebrate the very best of our multiculturalism.
I would like to pay tribute to Bangladeshis in Kent, for bringing everyone together and for organising the event.
Dartfordians have always been welcoming and embraced the opportunities that diversity has to offer and the success of this event was a testament to that. I hope the first multicultural festival will be a fixture in the Dartford calendar for many years to come.
