As set out on my 'In Parliament - School Visits' page on this website, there are free educational visits which, in addition to a tour of the Palace, offer children and students the chance to learn more about Parliament through interactive workshops.
From 12.00 pm on 31st January 2024, schools from across the UK will be able to book these free visits for the Summer term.
Visiting Parliament is a unique opportunity for students and teachers to explore the historic Palace of Westminster, where they will learn about the history of Parliament, how laws are made and what happens at Parliament today.
A free school visit includes:
- Subsidised travel (depending on eligibility)
- A guided tour of the Palace of Westminster
- A curricular-linked workshop in the Education Centre
- A Q&A session with me (if my diary allows)
With over 33,000 schools in the UK, these visits are highly popular and tend to book up quickly. Last term, all sessions were booked in under 5 hours.
Schools interested in visiting must book online using the booking portal and should register on the portal in advance and a link can be found below.
